How's My Driving
Lavi's not an easy character, so if you feel that I'm doing something wrong, do tell. xD Praise and the like is totally cool as well~

Basically, if there was ever anyone who would know about these suffixes it would be the Bookmen. I imagine they would also have access to the Exorcists' files, and in these it would say that Kanda's nationality is Japanese, I imagine, since Hoshino has always stated so... I dunno. But that's how I imagine it, anyway, since they need to give him some nationality so as not to give the secret away. Hell, maybe his previous self even actually was Japanese - there are still Japanese people after all, even if most of Japan are Akuma.
And so, I imagine Lavi would ponder over what to call Kanda to piss him off the most... So why not use a suffix?

I really do just think the reason they are used is because translators didn't care to go in to that much detail. RP does. There are plenty of ways you can cutesy up Kanda's name without using Japanese.

I wouldn't say it'd be ironic at all. Never imagined it that way. o_O And I do personally think that Kanda probably wouldn't understand what he meant at first, so he'd have to explain it. I think I even wrote it that way in a fic once...
